Monarch Butterfly Print 8cm

This is a limited-run print of an 8cm pencil drawing of a Monarch Butterfly. It was created in 2025 by Jane Pitchford. The print comes in a 230x310mm white mount with a 140x140mm window. Each one is printed on archival art paper, signed, numbered, and touched up with pencil.

The Monarch, also known as the Plain Tiger butterfly, is unpalatable to predators because its caterpillars feed on toxic milkweed, a trait that is mimicked by other non-toxic butterflies. A group of monarch butterflies is called a flutter.
